Tiro – ventilated storage of paint and solvent

Tiro is a narrow, ventilated storage cabinet for solvents, paints and lacquers – including isocyanate-containing materials. In just 450 mm of width the cabinet holds around 200 litres, making it one of the market's most space-efficient ways to store paint safely.

The idea behind Tiro is that the paint store should not have to take space away from production. In many workshops the paint stands wherever it happened to end up: on shelves along the wall, in cabinets without ventilation, sometimes still in the boxes. Tiro gives the paint store a defined, ventilated place that takes minimal floor space and can be extended as the range grows.

The cabinet suits workshops that need order and safety in the paint store without sacrificing production space. By placing several Tiro cabinets in a row, a complete, scalable paint store is built along a wall – each unit adds only 450 mm to the width. That makes the solution just as useful for the small workshop with a basic range as for the large facility with hundreds of colours.

Because Tiro is built for safe isocyanate handling, it also works for the materials that place the highest demands on ventilated storage.

The cabinet has five pull-out shelves that extend at once. This gives a full overview of the entire store in a single movement – no one has to search at the back of a dark shelf. Each shelf carries 50 kg even when fully extended, which means it can be loaded to the full without the construction giving way.

The body is made of galvanised steel measuring 450 × 800 × 2250 mm. Tiro is designed and manufactured in Frillesås, south of Gothenburg, and delivered fully assembled – it is ready to fill straight away on delivery.

Tiro is connected to existing ventilation via an exhaust-air connection of Ø120 mm with an exhaust-air requirement of only 100 m³/h. The low air demand means the cabinet can often be connected to an existing system without the ventilation having to be rebuilt.
